Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez's low budget summer smash makes its way to DVD to mixed response. This fake documentary (which is uncannily similar to the excellent Cannibal Holocaust) concerns three film students researching the phenomena of the Blair Witch. A trip into the woods leads to spooky goings on.
The film has an excellent creepy atmosphere which will be the fodder of frights for many folk who enjoy camping and great (but hysterical at times) acting and production values alike. But, the film is somewhat disappointing, especially at the end which I won't give away here (but you will know exactly what I mean when you see it).
The disc itself is a treat, forget going to see this at the cinema. Watch the disc instead, the inclusion of "The Curse of the Blair Witch" documentary is a great build up piece to watch before the movie. The additional commentary is hoot, with the production crew out for laughs.
An all round well produced disc, but really for Blair Fanatics only.
